Almost always, this is the first thing you’d hear as you enter the doors of our premises either at My Dinh or at Westlake. They are our greeters from the Welcome team welcoming you.
The Welcome team is composed of faithful volunteers who come in early every Sunday, and help prepare to make our space ready and conducive for the service.
It is comprised of two teams: “Greeters” and “Ushers”.
Our greeters are those who welcome you at the stairs or at the lobby and in some cases would have answers ready for you if you have questions like: “What time does the service start?”, “Do we have a program for kids?”, or “Where is the toilet?”. Our greeters are surely glad to answer your questions or guide you with some information you may need, especially if you’re visiting us for the first time. Every member of the team wears a badge so you will not miss them.
Our ushers on the other hand, are the ones right at the door of the auditorium. They give out the bulletins and help you find a seat or get to a seat. Most of our ushers’ tasks are while the service is going on. They also assist our MC during the “welcoming” portion of the service when visitors and new residents are given the chance to introduce themselves. They hand the welcome and connect cards to our newcomers to fill out, and take charge of collecting and counting the offering after the service.
Our Welcome team have quite an amount of tasks every Sunday.
At HIF, we are blessed to have brothers and sisters in the Welcome team who are committed to serving every Sunday. Being part of the welcome team is also a great way to meet new people and to start build genuine relationships with the rest of the team members, and with those we serve each week.
If you want to help create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere every Sunday, you’re most welcome to become part of the team. We are continuously building the team because we have three (3) services at two (2) locations to serve: 9am and 11am at the My Dinh location and 10am service at Westlake. Since we are a transient church, we often would launch team members to their next destination. There is always a gap to fill.
The Welcome team is a diverse group of individuals whose purpose is to serve God through others, communicating God’s love in simple ways of expression. This is what brings out the smiles on their faces every Sunday.
If you think you would like to become part of this ministry while you are in Hanoi, you’re most welcome to join.
Please feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org and our Welcome ministry leaders will get in touch with you soon.
